Hilary Rosen ripped corporate media outlets for keeping former President Donald Trump “alive” as the “left’s boogeyman” during a Monday CNN appearance.

“They’ve talked about Donald Trump more on MSNBC than they have on Fox News in the last year,” Rosen, a Democratic strategist and former president and CEO of the Recording Industry Association of America, told “CNN Newsroom” co-hosts Victor Blackwell and Bianna Golodryga. “Let’s be real. In many respects, his life as the left’s boogeyman has kept him alive and that has kept his base very enthusiastic.” (RELATED: ‘Massive Advantages Over Democrats’: NBC Data Guru Reveals Why Dems Could Face November Blowout)

“And, you know, that’s sort of at our own peril when we’ve done that and I think that in many respects, Republicans and Democrats and centrist Democrats and independents, they do want to turn the page,” Rosen added.

MSNBC hosts and guests have attacked Trump and his supporters on multiple occasions, at times hoping for the former president to be indicted. Ayman Mohyeldin told a guest in July he “obsessed” over the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol building, while guest Roland Martin claimed Trump’s supporters “allowed evil into their house” by backing the former president.

Trump-endorsed candidates like Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake of Arizona and senatorial candidates Mehmet Oz of Pennsylvania and Blake Masters of Arizona are in close races with their Democratic opponents.

Meanwhile, Senatorial candidate Herschel Walker of Georgia has pulled ahead of his Democratic opponent, Raphael Warnock, in the race.

“I will say that, you know, we have kept a lot of oxygen on our side in Donald Trump’s, you know, balloon,” Rosen said.

“Republican voters still are very emotionally attached to Donald Trump. You look at all of the early polling, he is the clear favorite of any of the challengers that might come and run in 2024,” CNN senior political reporter Nia-Malika Henderson said in response to Rosen’s comments. “It’s not the left that is keeping him alive. It’s very much Republican base voters still very much like Donald Trump and they want to see him be president again.”
