Police arrested a Utah man Monday after he pulled out a gun during a road rage fit, not realizing he was actually pointing his firearm at an unmarked patrol vehicle, KSL reported.

The suspect, Taylor Ray Bradley, 29, allegedly whipped out a “small silver firearm” at around 11:45 a.m. after cursing loudly at a truck that had seemingly cut him off on 5600 West in West Valley City, according to a police booking affidavit acquired by KSL.

After overtaking the driver, the unmarked police vehicle turned on its lights and pulled Bradley over by 5470 West. The squad car driver, a sergeant with the Granite School District Police Department, detained Bradley, while other officers found a gun “pushed into the seat cushion of the passenger side front seat,” the affidavit noted, according to the outlet.

Officers said Bradley “displays signs of an individual who could potentially put the public and other motor vehicle operators at risk for road rage incidents,” KSL reported. This was in addition to reports that he was “highly upset” while driving his car and being “dishonest” about where he stored his gun, the outlet continued. Bradley is currently in jail in Salt Lake City while law enforcement investigate the allegations of aggravated assault and threats to use a weapon in a fight, KSL reported.
