“The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon proved that he doesn’t understand comedy after publicly begging Twitter owner Elon Musk to help him when #RIPJimmyFallon started trending on the platform Tuesday.

Fallon’s now-deleted Tweet read, “Elon, can you fix this? #RIPJimmyFallon,” to which Musk replied, “Fix what?” Both tweets quickly went viral, prompting Fallon to delete his original question. We managed to get a screenshot of the exchange though, and it really is wonderful to behold.

Let’s be honest. Fallon was never really funny. The best bit he’s ever done is break character during the iconic “More Cowbell” skit on “Saturday Night Live.” He wasn’t a good enough actor or standup comedian to make it outside of the NBC show, which is why he landed in Late-Night.

I am also curious as to why Fallon thought it would be a good idea to ask Musk for help so publicly. Surely he has an agent, manager, any type of representative (or friend??) that could have told him what a bad idea it would have been. Even if Musk hadn’t responded, Fallon’s cringe factor just hit a 15 out of 10. Thankfully, Musk did respond to Fallon, and gave us all a good laugh. That’s more than I can say for Fallon’s entire career as a comedian.
