Singer-songwriter Bobby Brown said he will be resurrecting New Edition by embarking on a world tour with band mates Ralph, Ronnie, Mike, Ricky and Johnny in 2023, TMZ reported Thursday.

The world-famous R&B group topped the charts in the 80s and have been credited as being influential in the careers of many current-day artists. The band members have been through a series of ups and downs over the years and Brown eventually broke away to pursue his solo career.

Brown told reporters their “brotherhood” is still strong and that they’re ready to dive in to more projects together, according to TMZ. New Edition is poised to make their comeback and Brown tells fans they can expect to see them take the live stage March 2023.

New Edition’s impact on the music industry had been felt for four decades. Their musical reign has led to the development of super band Bell Biv DeVoe, and in addition to Brown’s solo path, both Ralph and Johnny have also seen independent success, according to TMZ.

New Edition is a celebrated group that packs high entertainment and a dose of nostalgia to those that have been devotedly following their music. They’ve even been referenced by The Weeknd as he bragged about listening to their album in his hit single Starboy. (RELATED: Netflix Releases Trailer For ‘That ’90s Show’)

Some of New Edition’s biggest hit singles to top the chart include “Candy Girl,” “Cool It Now” and “Mr. Telephone Man,” along with “Count Me Out” and “Can You Stand The Rain,” according to Billboard.

Details surrounding dates and tour stops have not been released at this time.
