The Kremlin on Tuesday denied claims that Russian President Vladimir Putin involuntarily defecated after falling down a staircase.

“Regarding your request, we can say that this is completely untrue,” the Press and Information Office of the President of the Russian Federation reportedly told Newsweek, which requested comment after a social media post claimed the president fell down a flight of stairs and landed on his coccyx, causing him to soil himself.

The story originated with a Telegram post from the account GENERALL SVR, who previously claimed to be a former Moscow spy. Most anti-Russian posts from the account remain unsubstantiated, according to Newsweek. Many had previously speculated that Putin’s health had been in decline since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Russian leader had apparently been treated for cancer in April 2o22, U.S. intelligence told Newsweek in June.

In November, The Sun claimed to have viewed emails from alleged Kremlin staff confirming that Putin suffers from Parkinson’s disease. “Putin is regularly stuffed with all kinds of heavy steroids and innovative painkilling injections to stop the spread of pancreatic cancer he was recently diagnosed with,” Russian security allegedly stated, according to the outlet.
