Charlotte Hornets Are Giving Up On This Season So Bad That It’s Embarrassingly Obvious

I love the Charlotte Hornets, but this is absolutely atrocious.

The Charlotte Hornets squared off against the Memphis Grizzlies Jan. 4 in the Queen City, but unfortunately for the Hornets, the Grizzlies came in, conquered and renamed it to Blowoutsville. In fact, it was so bad that the Charlotte Hornets even gave up in the middle of the game, and did so in an incredibly embarrassing fashion.

With just a few minutes to go in the third quarter, Charlotte was down big to Memphis, 96-67, and after Hornets guard LaMelo Ball scored, Grizzlies guard Ja Morant decided to run off some clock while in the backcourt — and did so for a bizarre 27 seconds.

This is just embarrassing.

And then the whole situation was made even worse for Charlotte at the end of the clip when guard Terry Rozier just plops over after “defending” Morant. God, it’s so cringe.

I love the Charlotte Hornets brand, the Queen City is some of my old stomping grounds growing up in southern Virginia, so it’s honestly a bit irritating for me to see this is happening. I understand that the Hornets are horrific this season sitting with a dismal 10-29 record, but come on, do they really have to make it so incredibly obvious that they’re giving up? If they’re tanking and trying to get the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, hey, I get it. I’m not going to knock them for that, you might as well being that bad and build around LaMelo Ball, but don’t make it so damn obvious.

It’s just not a good look, man. But shout out to the Queen City, much love.
