Liberal late night show hosts mocked the discovery of classified documents in President Joe Biden’s private office and garage.

Stephen Colbert criticized the president for storing ten classified documents found in his office in November, and a second batch found stored in his garage in Wilmington, Delaware.

“Defenders of the president have been saying this was an honest mistake, he’s cooperative, plus his lawyers say this happens all the time. Good to know. Counterpoint, maybe it shouldn’t,” Colbert said.

The host played a clip of the president assuring the public that the documents were safely secured inside a locked garage. He imitated Biden by wearing his signature aviators and arguing in defense of the material.

“Come on, it’s in a locked garage. You’d think I’d leave my sweet cherry Vette out on the main drag where some street thugs could scuff it with their switchblades? No sirree. I keep that baby locked up tight in my garage. Sunday afternoons, I go in there and buff it with a handful of missile maps.”

Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed special counsel Robert Hur to lead the investigation into the president’s possible mishandling of the documents Wednesday. Colbert compared Hur’s investigation into Biden to the review of former President Donald Trump’s classified material seized from Mar-a-Lago in August. “This feels like flossing. I know it’s the right thing to do, but it’s making me spit blood,” he said.

Late night show Jimmy Fallon mocked the reports saying the president is losing classified material “the way we lost AirPods.”

“Which is more dangerous: Joe Biden having classified documents in his garage, or Joe Biden having the keys to a Corvette?” Fallon asked.

Host James Corden attempted to compare the cases of Trump and Biden with a mockery name, saying, “You’ve heard of Mar-a-Lago — this is Car-a-Lago.” The statement referenced the president’s Corvette vehicle stored in the garage.
