Professional boxer Joseph, “JoJo” Diaz was reportedly charged Monday with misdemeanor child neglect.

Members of the Claremont Police Department arrested Diaz for alleged child neglect in the Los Angeles area and took him into custody at roughly 7:00 p.m., according to TMZ. The specific circumstances that led to his arrest remain unclear and details have not yet been disclosed, according to TMZ.

The famous boxer was released from police custody on Tuesday afternoon, but bail conditions were not publicly shared, according to TMZ.

The boxer’s last Instagram post was Monday, the day of his arrest. It was a photo of himself with his child, alongside the caption, “Best thing bout my life is being ya DaD ❤️‍🔥”

The 30-year-old fighter has a 32-13-1 pro record and is known for his big win of the International Boxing Federation super featherweight title in 2020.

Diaz famously lost to Devin Haney in 2021 and had been in talks for a big match with Ryan Garcia, though that deal fell through. (RELATED: Ex-Teacher Accused Of Grooming A Student, Pleads Guilty To Child Endangerment)
