A woman in California reported her husband to police after she allegedly found a hidden video camera in their guest-room bathroom, prompting the man’s arrest Thursday.

Local police arrested Redding, California, resident Ryan Rovito, 34, after his wife uncovered a covert bathroom recording device that filmed both adults and children using the family home guest restroom, BuzzFeed News reported. She also discovered a hard drive said to be ridden with a copious amount of child porn, prompting a confrontation between the couple, according to the outlet.

The hard drive reportedly contained an excess of 900 image files of both “child sexual abuse material,” in addition to video content containing children and adults using the lavatory. By Sunday, Rovito “was no longer listed on the jail’s online inmate list,” according to BuzzFeed News. It is unclear if Rovito has retained a public defender or private attorney.

Rovito is charged in connection “with the possession of child pornography and the surreptitious recording of an identifiable person who was undressed,” Fox 11 reported.

Court records revealed that Rovito’s wife is seeking out a temporary restraining order against her husband after reporting him to law enforcement.
