“The View” co-hosts ranted about “60 Minutes” interviewing Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene during Monday’s panel.

The program held an exclusive interview with Greene on a Sunday night special with interviewer Leslie Stahl, sparking backlash from several political and media figures. The co-hosts seemingly disapproved of the interview after the representative defended her remarks about Democrats being “pedophiles” for supporting drag queen story hour and transgender procedures.

“I actually in this instance think it was a bad move for ’60 Minutes,” co-host Sara Haines said. “Let me just clarify one thing from that soundbite. There are people that say if you’re not a gun owner, you talk about guns, you sound dumb. She sounds really dumb veering into LGBTQ+ because gender-affirming procedures are not about sexuality or sexual orientation. It’s about gender. So the fact that she doesn’t even know the difference, she probably shouldn’t speak to it at all because it’s insulting to everyone involved.”

Greene said that Democrats support “sexualizing children” and named sex-change operations as an example during the interview. President Joe Biden’s administration and several blue states have come out in support of giving children and minors sex-change operations and puberty blockers, as well as presenting pornographic books in some libraries and allowing drag queens to perform and read stories on gender fluidity in front of young children.

Haines said Greene won in a “small Republican district” and lost 60,000 votes, yet has a major voice. Co-host Ana Navarro said the “respected” program violated its reputation by airing Greene. Navarro blamed House Speaker Kevin McCarthy for making Greene “far more relevant” by appointing her to committees. Greene won over McCarthy’s vote by being appointed to the Committee on Homeland Security.

Co-host Sunny Hostin came to the program’s defense since she thought Greene “looked like an idiot.”

“I don’t have a problem with her having that platform because I thought she looked like an idiot,” Hostin said. “And I think a lot of people got to, as per my argument of cameras in the courtroom, let us see what you have to say. And I hate to do this because I think Leslie Stahl is such a great journalist. I wanted statistics and push backs. ‘Well, why do you say that? Who have you heard say that?’ What about the statistics? What about that? You know Leslie always has the receipts, where were they? Where were the receipts and they weren’t anywhere and it was very frustrating.”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said the media gives a voice to the partisan members of Congress who lack legislative power. She then criticized Stahl for not pushing back enough against the representative.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg lamented against Greene for saying she wants to protect children while wanting armed security in schools and for suggesting former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi be hung for treason.

“This is the nature of people making decisions for your life and it might be a very small area, but it’s a very dumb move,” Goldberg said. “We have people on these committees who have no brain power and the capacity to continue to ignore any facts or pushback. She doesn’t care about the pushback on her, she’s one of those people who’s just gonna do what she does and you don’t have to watch it and I did not. So goodnight, Marjorie Taylor Greene.”
