“Bridgerton” star Adjoa Andoh stunned fans with her personal views and racially-charged commentary during ITV’s Coronation coverage on Sunday.
Andoh’s candid commentary left many audience members in shock, including fellow pundit Myleene Klass, who was seated right next to her. Klass looked completely bewildered, with her mouth slightly open and a stunned look at her face as Andoh spoke. “We have gone from the rich diversity of the Abbey to a terribly white balcony,” she said. “I am very struck by that.”

The actress, who plays “Lady Danbury” in the hit Netflix show, immediately caused a wave of commentary on social media. Tom Bradby and Julie Etchingham were out of camera view during her bold assessment of the Buckingham Palace balcony.
Andoh sent more shockwaves through the audience with further comments.
“I am also looking at those younger generations and thinking: ‘What are the nuances that they will inhabit when they grow?'” she said.
Her comments sparked outrage among some Twitter users, with many responding with comments such as “Why was she even invited on the BBC?” and “But they are British. Imagine complaining that a royal family in Africa is “terribly black.”

Others came forward to share their disdain for her commentary by simply writing, “Disgusting,” as Twitter user Cathy Morgan did. (RELATED: Kid Rock Doesn’t Want ‘Snowflakes’ At His Concert)
Andoh has since responded to the backlash by saying she “didn’t mean to upset anyone,” according to The Mirror. A Twitter video of her rant has generated more than 15.2 million views in less than 24 hours.
