Daily Caller editorial director Vince Coglianese said Wednesday that Democrats are ignoring antisemitism despite knowing about it for a long time.

Democratic Reps. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota have been known anti-Israel members of Congress who have publicly expressed their support for Palestine following the brutal Oct. 7 attack by Hamas. Coglianese told Fox News’ Bret Baier that Democrats are concerned about the “publicity problems” from having anti-Israel members of Congress after years of attempting to downplay the issue.

“There is, I think, a very real and unfortunate problem right now which is that you have major media institutions and also Democrats that are inside of this congress who are not rooting for Israel whatsoever in the wake of one of the most horrific attacks that any of us have seen, certainly in the modern age given this gruesome video,” Coglianese said. “And you’ve got members of Congress, this is not new for the Democratic Party, they’ve been dealing with this for a long time but they’ve been trying to keep it quiet, keep it down. Now it’s blowing up into full public view and they’re concerned about the publicity problems from that.”

“They’ve known about Ilhan Omar, they’ve known about Rashida Tlaib. This is not a new problem,” he continued.

Tlaib and Omar have long sided with Palestine and have publicly condemned Israel. The two congresswomen ran cover for Hamas, an Islamic terrorist group after it claimed that an Israeli airstrike hit a hospital in the Gaza Strip and killed around 500 people. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and U.S. intelligence officials disputed the claim, saying a misfire by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad likely caused the bombing. Israel just bombed the Baptist Hospital killing 500 Palestinians (doctors, children, patients) just like that. @POTUS this is what happens when you refuse to facilitate a ceasefire & help de-escalate,” Tlaib wrote in an Oct. 17 tweet. “Your war and destruction only approach has opened my eyes and many Palestinian Americans and Muslim Americans like me. We will remember where you stood.”

Despite evidence provided by U.S. officials, Tlaib refused to take down her tweet condemning Israel for the misfire. She doubled down on her claims by saying she cannot accept Israeli “denials” regarding the bombing.

Omar retracted her accusations against Israel after Israel and the U.S. disputed the claims.

The corporate media also quickly stealth-edited its initial reports, which tended to take Hamas’ claims at face value. CNN published a piece with the headline “Israel hits hospital and school in Gaza as blockade cripples healthcare system,” but later changed it to “Hundreds likely dead in Gaza hospital blast, as Israeli blockade cripples medical response.”

Democratic Florida Rep. Jared Moskowitz called out Tlaib, Omar and the media for blindly citing Hamas terrorists and engaging in antisemitic behaviors during an Oct. 24 appearance on Fox News’ “Outnumbered.” A group of twenty-two Republicans joined every Democrat to vote against censuring Tlaib on the House floor Wednesday.
