“The View” co-host Ana Navarro said Monday that Democrats need to “stop fretting” about President Joe Biden as criticism from within his own party grows.

A poll published by The New York Times/Siena College found former President Donald Trump leading Biden in five out of six key battleground states in a hypothetical 2024 general election. A growing number of Democrats and liberals have called on the president not to run in the upcoming presidential election, as numerous polls have found him to be unpopular among members of his party.

“Look, I think that people are not quite laser-focused on politics that way we may be on a daily basis,” Navarro said. “Yet, they are going to get, nobody has laid a finger on Trump because the Republican primary has been like all these minions fighting amongst themselves, who can even tell them apart at this point? And it doesn’t matter. It’s going to be a choice between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, you know, [David] Axelrod says this is the last time. No actually, that ship has sailed. The deadline to get on the ballot for Nevada was two weeks ago, there are deadlines you need to meet in order to be on the ballot and those deadlines are passing or gone.”

“So, I think Democrats need to stop fretting, need to stop looking at this as a warning and look at it as a wake-up call to organize, to mobilize, to register people, to talk about the accomplishments of this administration. If you want to beat Donald Trump, stop clutching your pearls, and get to work,” she concluded.

CNN’s David Axelrod suggested that it may not be “wise” for Biden to remain in the race given that recent polling is in Trump’s favor. (RELATED: ‘I Was Stunned’: CNN Host Shocked After David Axelrod Calls For Biden To Consider Dropping Out)

The @POTUS is justly proud of his accomplishments. Trump is a dangerous, unhinged demagogue whose brazen disdain for the rules, norms, laws and institutions or democracy should be disqualifying,” Axelrod said. “But the stakes of miscalculation here are too dramatic to ignore. Only @JoeBiden can make this decision. If he continues to run, he will be the nominee of the Democratic Party. What he needs to decide is whether that is wise; whether it’s in HIS best interest or the country’s?”

Democratic Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal said the election “is in great trouble” for Biden and the Democratic Party as several far-left voters in favor of Palestine have threatened to oppose the president over his staunch support for Israel. Some pro-Palestinian protesters have labeled the president “Genocide Joe” due to Israel defending itself against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and a group wrenched the White House fence during a massive protest Saturday night.

Democratic Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips, who is now challenging Biden in the primary, said Biden should not run in 2024 and called for a “generational change.” Former Democratic Ohio Senate candidate Tim Ryan continuously said Biden should not run, as did former Democratic South Carolina Rep. Joe Cunningham, who said in June 2022 that Washington needs a “new generation of leadership.”

Four Democrats—Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Dean Phillips and Cori Bush of Missouri—refused to endorse Biden in April.

Numerous polls found a majority of Democratic voters do not want Biden to be the nominee. A New York Times/Siena poll from July 2022 found that 64% of Democrats preferred a different nominee, and nearly half found him unfit to serve in a second term in a Yahoo/YouGov poll.
