President Joe Biden shared an Instagram photo of his 81st birthday cake on Monday, setting the internet ablaze.
Biden is pictured sitting at the end seat of a large table, where a birthday cake engulfed in flames is set in front of the aging octogenarian, who grinned as his outstretched arms gripped the ends of the table.
“Thanks for the birthday well-wishes today, everyone,” the caption read. “Turns out on your 146th birthday, you run out of space for candles!”

Social media users responded to the post with more than birthday wishes, as many took the opportunity to express discontent with the sitting president.
“He can’t even call a ceasefire on his own cake,” one user wrote, referring to calls for a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

On Monday, Biden joked that it was “difficult turning 60” before pardoning two turkeys for Thanksgiving. Earlier in 2023, the president responded to widespread concerns about his age by stating that he has gained “wisdom” over his long political career.
