By now, it’s clear the White House is committed to telling massive lies to the American people. President Joe Biden delivered the greatest economy in modern history, beat COVID, tackled the “climate crisis,” restored confidence abroad and unity and decency at home — or so his press team continues to tell us. For many, such sweeping narratives are easier to swallow; told over and over, these abstractions merely conformed to political priors — what people wanted to believe. Yet nearly all the polling shows widespread disillusionment setting in; the wild claims are now falling apart. Forced to pivot, it’s the smaller, concrete “accomplishments” that are downright laughable.
