MMA firebrand Sean Strickland almost opened fire at his friends when they surprised him for his birthday, a video he posted to his Instagram shows.
The polarizing middleweight posted a video to his Instagram that showed him removing a pistol from his waistband holster as he entered his apartment. The room was full of people shouting “surprise!” and “happy birthday” as the fighter wandered in with a bewildered look on his face.
Strickland captioned the post with “What do you do when you walk to your door and you hear voices laughing….. go in half-cocked…. lmao!”

That would truly be one of the dumbest ways to die. There are myriad ways an unarmed Sean Strickland could kill you, so strapping him with a piece just makes him that much more lethal.
Judging from the slightly bemused look on Strickland’s face he was likely just playing a gag on his buddies and they were never in any real danger, but it’s still just generally good advice to not try and sneak up on armed savages who beat the piss out of other trained killers for a living.

His pals seemed to take the near-death experience in stride, however, with one of his buddies, model Nina Marie Daniele, commenting on the post “Here’s the thing about surprising Sean on his Bday … don’t do it! You almost ended our lives LMAO.”

I’m glad we’re all having fun with it because if Strickland had an itchy trigger finger it could have been VERY ugly.
