The people who run the CMT Music Awards clearly have no idea what country music is because their nominees for 2024 aren’t even slightly as successful as the one man they basically ignored.

Morgan Wallen is the most popular singer-songwriter in music right now, not just country music. His albums have broken record after record, and he’s on his way to becoming an international superstar, finally making country cool for a European audience. But apparently all of his hard work and success isn’t good enough for the clown show clearly organizing the 2024 CMT Music Awards on April 7.

A press release shared with the Daily Caller details how Cody Johnson (who?), Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini (really?) Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney (also, who?) are these year’s biggest contenders. It must be such a slap in the face to all of these artists to know the only reason they’re even in the running is because the CMT staff are clearly prejudiced losers.

Wallen is nominated for just one award, the “Male Video of the Year,” for his hit single, “Last Night.”

It is really quite clever how CMT is trying to eradicate Wallen. I mean, how is someone supposed to be nominated for the “CMT Performance of the Year” when the dorks at CMT won’t even give him a call? (RELATED: Grammy Winner Who Refuses To Work With Morgan Wallen Makes Embarrassing Comment)

Listen, if country music artists are okay getting a fake award for their fake success when compared to the insane success of Wallen, that’s on them. Some people are just that desperate for attention, I guess. But I think it’s about time the entire country music industry band around the man who made their genre relevant to all Americans and a growing international fanbase, not just those of us raised with it.
