We have some major developments in the world of college football!

There’s a group that features “several” university presidents who have proposed a plan that would completely change the landscape of college football, according to a report from Andrew Marchand and Stewart Mandel of The Athletic.

Branded as “College Sports Tomorrow,” the group has a plan to launch a two-tiered structure for FBS schools. (RELATED: Oregon RB Coach Carlos Locklyn Leaving For New Big Ten Rival Ohio State)

“The current CST outline would create a system that would have the top 70 programs — all members of the five former major conferences, plus Notre Dame and new ACC member SMU — as permanent members and encompass all 130-plus FBS universities,” The Athletic reported. “The perpetual members would be in seven 10-team divisions, joined by an eighth division of teams that would be promoted from the second tier.”

In other words, the group wants an 80-team super league, something that would completely put the NCAA out of business.

Hmm … this is some interesting stuff.

It’s hard to have an outright opinion on this because we don’t know the full logistics of everything yet, but on paper, everything looks good. Plus, at this point, who doesn’t want to see the NCAA and their greed fall?

A potential super league in college football? … things are changing, that’s for sure.
