Meghan McCain responded to Candace Owens after the ex-Daily Wire show host called her “clinically obese” Thursday.

“I have the best life. I am so lucky – truly happy and content in all ways, including my body,” McCain wrote in part Friday on Twitter.

Owens first got into a heated spat Thursday with McCain’s husband, The Spectator editor-at-large Ben Domenech, who accused her of being “vile” to his family and criticized her “antisemitism.” Owens replied, criticizing his wife for “publicly shaming ‘anti-vaxxers'” and his passionate hate for her.

“Despise? LOL You’re a 42 year old married man,” Owens said Thursday in response to Domenech. “Why do you feel this passionately about me? The feeling is not mutual, you’re too pathetic to despise. You’re upset because when your wife was publicly shaming ‘anti-vaxxers’ (namely Joe Rogan) for not receiving the Covid vax, I told her the truth: no sensible person should be taking advice from a clinically obese woman over Joe Rogan regarding health. Health is not a clinically obese person agreeing to get a rushed vaccine so they can lecture others on Twitter. Joe Rogan dedicates his life to health. Your wife does not.”

“I do get your infatuation with me however. My opinions tend to age well,” she continued. “I bet anyone who listened to your wife and got the vaccine wishes they had instead listened to Joe Rogan.” (RELATED: ‘I’ll Be Consulting My Lawyers’: Meghan McCain Fires Back After ‘View’ Host Takes Veiled Shot)

McCain decided to speak up herself Friday.

“I have the best life. I am so lucky – truly happy and content in all ways, including my body. I wish that for all women & will continue to be a safe, compassionate and open space for all people whose weight has fluctuated up and down in different stages in life, like mine has,” McCain said Friday morning.

Domenech argued The Daily Wire had justification for firing Owens over “blood libel,” relating specifically to her criticism of Israel and her accusation that Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro supports genocide for siding with Israel.

Jeremy Boreing, the co-founder of The Daily Wire, announced that his outlet parted ways with Owens in a March 22 tweet.

Shapiro called Owens’ “behavior” during the conflict “disgraceful” in Nov. 2023. Shapiro called for Owens to leave the company over their spat in November after she suggested that she could not “serve both God and money.”
