The Jacksonville Jaguars just dropped a FAT bag on Josh Allen, agreeing to a five-year, $150 million contract extension with the star pass rusher, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported in a Wednesday tweet.

Allen’s deal, which makes him the third highest-paid edge rusher in the league by annual value, also includes a staggering $88 million guaranteed, according to Schefter.

Allen has been a monstrous force for the Jags, arguably the best Josh Allen in the NFL, and that’s saying something.

Since Jacksonville drafted him in 2019, he’s amassed 45 sacks in 74 games. In just five seasons, one of which was cut short by an injury, he’s shot up their career sack leaderboard to become the team’s second all-time sack leader, trailing Tony Brackens by just 10.

In 2023 he set the franchise record for getting to the quarterback, slingshotting team legends like Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue on the sack leaderboard with his 17.5 sack season. (RELATED: NFL Just Got One Step Closer To Giving Us Football In Every Waking Moment Of Our Lives)

And his sack numbers don’t even tell the whole story. He has been routinely double-teamed on pass-blocking sets throughout his career and consistently finds a way to break through.

Allen’s 17.5 sack breakthrough came in 2023 after fellow edge-rusher Trayvon Walker started getting a lot of the double-teams over Allen. Walker added 10 sacks of his own in 2023, contributing to what is quickly becoming the NFL’s most-feared pass-rush duo.
